Web Design & Development

Three of my favourite websites:
1) Facebook.com - I go on this whenever I get access to internet to check on any notifications etcc.
2) Youtube.com - This is the most common website for viewing videos.
3) Hotmail.com - To check my mail? o.o

Three of my least favourite websites:
1) Brentwood homepage - Loading problems & I see it too often because it is the school internet's homepage.
2) Ask.com - A very dodgy search engine
3) Neil's toolbox - Really bad website for bibliography.

IT303 Magazine Challenge

Original picture:
I used the lasso tool to cut her out and pasted her onto a background. Then, I changed the colour of her dress to yellow to make it look sharper.

Then, I added a flower on her head for decoration~

Magazine Cover:
The background i used was originally brown. I changed the colour by playing around with hue and saturation. I decided to make it green because green is nice?
But overall, I am happy with my magazine cover, and since this is the first time that I've used Photoshop, it was a good attempt :]

Collage

This is a collage that I created. I used the lasso tool to blend the images together , & yeaah. :)

Experimenting on blending

In this tutorial, I learnt how to blend images to a background and make it appear as if it was originally in the photo. Although i failed to blend the first image with Kirsten standing up...
But good enough for a first try :]

Original copy.

I enjoyed using a tutorial because it was easy to follow, and was detailed. I have learnt to use an image and create a blur background.

PNG, GIF, JPEG

GIF:
GIF images are compressed and are used to transfer across slow connections. It can be used for logos, line drawings and icons, and does not work in photographs. GIF stands for Graphics Interchange Format.
-------------
PNG:
PNG is a better version of GIF with 24 bit in colour. The letters PNG stand for Portable Network Graphics. It is the third newest file format used today.
--------------
JPEG:
JPEG stands for Joint Photographic Experts Group, and is best in photos and natural sceneries. It supports 16.7 million colours, but some details might be lost when resizing the image.

# What does the term "Lossy" mean?
Lossy is the term for
jagged edges or pixelated areas.

This image is a trial on photoshop - using the lasso magnetic tool. First of all, I learnt about the basics of photoshop and how to cut images neater instead of using paint. My favourite part of completing this task is looking at other people's work & their creativity.
